CHLOE Lanthier, Festival Founder & Director
Chloë is an elite mountain endurance athlete and has been competing Trail & Ultra’s on an international platform for the past 3 decades. She is a former mountain bike world champion, and a keen ski mountaineer. She is a sport medicine consultant specializing in sport injuries, biomechanics and human performance. An author, speaker, coach, race director and the founder of the Chamonix Mountain Endurance Academy. Sharing her passion, experience and knowledge is an integral part of her life. Canadian she lives full time in Chamonix.
Kaz moved to Chamonix in 2010 when her love for running in the mountains was born, during recent years she has raced in the Alps and America. Her most recent challenges have been Tahoe 200, Barkley Marathons, Moab 240, and Ouray 100. Kaz is part of Pyllon Racing a small team of determined, courageous and spirited trail runners. In her words: ‘Running challenges me. It has taught me so much about myself. To train hard. To be in the moment. To work at becoming your best self. Because if you don’t challenge yourself, you don’t know yourself.’
TIM Tollefson Elite Runner
Tim is a 2 time US Olympic Marathon trials qualifier with a 2:18:26 PB, 2 time USATF 50k Trail National Champion, Ultra Trail Australia Champion, has 2 consecutive 3rd place finishes at UTMB in 2016 & 2017, and just won the 2019 edition of Lavaredo Ultra-Trail 120km. He is a sport physical Therapist and lives in Mammoth Lake California. Tim is back to the festival for a second year and will be competing in this year UTMB. Why he loves the trail? ‘In a world that strives to maximize comfort, mountain running allows opportunity to explore and push the homeostatic norm. When you flirt with the fringe, you realize what it means to truly be alive.’
VINCENT Delebarre Elite Runner & Coach / UIAGM High Mountain Guide
Vincent competed for three decades at an elite level from triathlon, cross-country skiing, multi-sport raid to mountain running. He has combine his passion for the mountains and endurance to become a qualified high mountain guide and sports coach. His most sentimental results are a 4th place at the Embrun Iron-Man triathlon, and winning the Great Templar race, Diagonale des fous and UTMB. He has completed over 200 trail races including fifty victories. Proud father of Luc 20, and Prune 17 years old.
‘To give oneself body and soul in the mountains makes me feel alive without any parasite of thought. There is also its steep environment that requires agility and therefore to beautiful sensations and the pleasure of mastering the terrain.’
JONATHAN Bracey, Elite Mountain Athlete & IFMGA High Mountain Guide
Jonathan is a qualified IFMGA High Mountain Guide based in Chamonix with his wife and two children, he works year round as a guide. He is a leading alpinist with many first ascents across the globe. Jon is a very talented mountain endurance athlete competing in the Pierra Menta and world championship of ski alpinism to winning the 40km Trail du Petit Saint Bernard in 2018 just to name a few. How does he do it all? ‘With a busy schedule my training is often very sporadic and far from ideal. However I love trying to maximize performance from minimal training, the secret is the biggest muscle in the body is the brain!’
PHILIPPE Sebah, Commander of the Chamonix Helicopter Base
Philippe has been the Commander of the Chamonix Helicopter Base for the past 7 years. He is also an instructor, has 7000 flight hours, a flight & mountain rescue specialist for 21 years. He has worked in Savoy, Haute-Savoie, Briançon, on the island of La Réunion and in countries such as Kazakhstan, Morocco, Jordan, Albania and Chile. He is a keen mountain biker and has been kickboxing for years (don’t get in his way!) Philippe and the rescue team are an integral part of the Chamonix community doing daily rescue in the Mont Blanc massif. He always has a big smile even after hard and long hours of flying, he is the James Bond of Chamonix!
